CEREC utilizes computer aided design and computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology which allows quicker and more convenient dental procedures. CEREC uses a high tech process to create crowns very quickly right in the dental office. During the process, the CEREC Omnicam 3D Mouth Scanner is used to scan the tooth that will be crowned, then it digitally designs the restoration and then it creates the crown. With CEREC, patients can get their new crowns in only one day.
